Abstract
The photographic exhibition Play, Ground is a joint presentation by two emerging artists,Hang yu and Ruotong Guan. Society frequently idealizes amusement parks as utopian sanctuaries, a place to cast aside pain and responsibility and enter with optimistic illusion. Confronting this traditional portrayal of amusement parks as escapes from life's pressures, these artists embed elements of pain and responsibility into this romanticized space, observing reality from an epicurean, laid-back viewpoint. They construct their own play area, offering a fresh interpretation of what an amusement park can represent.
